Nergis Öztürk Talks About “Dignity” (Haysiyet) Ahead of Kanal D Premiere
“Haysiyet,” the latest series from Kanal D, has already sparked curiosity ahead of its premiere. Nergis Öztürk (Nergis Öztürk), who plays Nimet Karalıova in the drama, has now spoken for the first time about the project, its layered storyline and her character.
Filming for “Haysiyet” is continuing in Balat, and Öztürk emphasized that the series will not revolve around a single straightforward storyline. Instead, it will follow several different stories unfolding alongside one another. Describing the project, the actress called it “Yeşilçam-style and multilayered.”
According to Öztürk, viewers will encounter a number of interconnected stories rather than a single direct narrative, with each storyline carrying its own emotional and dramatic weight.
In “Haysiyet,” Öztürk plays Nimet Karalıova, the mother of the Karalıova family and the wife of Sadık Karalıova, portrayed by Kerem Alışık (Kerem Alışık).
Öztürk described Nimet as a strong woman who carries much of the responsibility for her home and family. She is devoted and resilient, doing everything she can to keep the family together. However, the actress stressed that Nimet is not defined solely by her strength.
Alongside her determination and self-sacrifice, Nimet has wounds, weaknesses and emotional pain of her own. She has faced difficult experiences throughout her life and has been forced to overcome numerous challenges. As the story develops, audiences will therefore see both the happier moments of her life and the difficult periods she goes through.
Öztürk also discussed the core values of the Karalıova family, saying that honesty and integrity form the foundation of their household. Nimet and Sadık have built their family life around truthfulness and doing what is right, but those values will face serious tests as the story progresses.
Over time, the balance within the family will begin to change, and viewers will discover different sides of the characters. According to Öztürk, the image audiences initially form of the characters will gradually evolve as the story moves forward.
The actress also spoke about the atmosphere behind the scenes and praised the strong coordination among the cast and crew. Before filming officially began, she and the series’ director, Eda Teksöz (Eda Teksöz), went through an extensive preparation period.
Öztürk explained that individual and group rehearsals and meetings allowed members of the team to get to know one another more closely. She believes that this preparation has had a positive effect on the atmosphere on set and the energy shared by the actors.
“Haysiyet” is produced by Süreç Film, with Ali Gündoğdu (Ali Gündoğdu) and İnci Gündoğdu (İnci Gündoğdu) serving as producers. The cast also includes Doğukan Güngör (Doğukan Güngör), Reha Özcan (Reha Özcan), Kerem Alışık and Nergis Öztürk, alongside numerous other actors.
“Haysiyet” is scheduled to premiere on Kanal D on Tuesday, September 8. The upcoming family drama combines a nostalgic Yeşilçam-inspired atmosphere with multiple interconnected storylines, and its opening episodes will reveal how audiences respond to the series.
